Hickory and raw. It puts a lot of scent and fat into the water. Mike

I useally fish for large Flatheads, and live bream work well. I have even used small bass 8 to10 inches, and had good success. Worms work most anytime for most types of fish. Normally I don't fish for carp, but have caught them with whole kernel corn. Good Fish'n RF
You live in a good area to fish. Cut Blueback herring would be my 1st choice for channels and blues. Bream or crappie live would be my choice for flatheads. If you just want to use a dip bait get a tub of Triple S it will catch my channels then any of the other species

do you not know that you are not suppose to use bass as bait because they are game fish in s.c anyway
If you want one bait that is good to excellent for catfish, carp, trout and breams the best for all uses is worms. Anything will eat a worm with gusto.
Have great success using an equal part mix of wheaty cereal, cream of wheat , and oatmeal.
Mix with a little water, or soda, and form into a tight packed ball around a hook.
Carp and smaller channel cats love it.
Fresh cut bait for blue cats and large channels. Live bait works best for flattys.

The freshest chicken livers you can get.
Might check at a chicken only establishment and see if you can buy some from them, the one where I use to get them they were only 3 days cleaned and never frozen.
Once they have been frozen they are mushy and hard to hold on a single hook fresh and never frozen stay on pretty good.
