Get some repellant that contains permethrin. You spray it on your clothes, NOT your skin. Tuck your pants leg down in your socks or tie your pants legs down over the sprayed socks. Spray around your belt line as well.

Best way to stop them is cover each spot with nail polish. It will smother them and they will die. Helps for shorter duration.

Chiggers are the offspring of red bugs. The babies eat your flesh, but cannot digest it. So nature has given them an acid to puke on your skin, and the baby just sucks the flesh out. The acid does not just go away, it keeps dissolving your flesh. Some people use bleach to wash the bites, and I think that is ok. The holes show up when you do nothing, because the acid is still working. Kill the red bugs and no more chiggers.

I'm now using 'bug soother', for mosquitos and it really works, but I don't know if it would work on chiggers. Chiggers do not drink blood like ticks, and do not bury into the skin, but eat flesh, by liquifying it. Just read the label, BS does not list chiggers.

Hey wy. Mike when i was kid 70 years ago we use to use coal oil to keep the chiggers off. We put it on our tenner shoes and on our pant legs. As i remember it worked pretty well. But if we did get any ma used to stick us in the wash tub with hot water and rock salt. It took the itch away in a day. Good luck Barney

The chiggers in my area are the worst I’ve ever seen can’t hardly walk around outside without getting them. Any one else having that problem. Or know a good remedy to stop the itching.

i have a liquid that smells like garlic when first applied but it goes away pretty quickly. It keeps ticks, chiggers, mosquitoes, and most bugs away. I use a 1 gal. pump up sprayer to dispense it. It's up at my cabin and I don't remember what its called. Try googling tick and chigger repellent. Mike
