Has anyone fished on Koocanusa Lake or the Kootenai River in northwest Montana? If yes, what kind of fish were you fishing for and how long ago did you fish this area?
All I know about the Kootenai River is that it's considered a "blue ribbon" trout fishery. That means it's supposed to be damn good. If you go, please let us know and post some photos.
salmon, trout mostly. Take your boat below the dam after dark should catch some good ones
Thanks, I will give this a try.
Thanks, I will post some pictures if I catch some.

Big rainbows in both the river and lake. Think there's kokonee in the lake, and they planted some Kamloops variety of rainbow that get really big. But I have not been up there in a long time.
Thanks, Montana is a state with lots of opportunity to have fun.
Thanks, I will try fishing for rainbow.
