Nothing wrong with being afraid of snakes, we all have our fears of something. Snakes are just something I've had a lot of experience with and as I said everything where I worked was protected so on occasion we'd have to remove snakes from certain areas. Mike

Are you sure it was a snake eating the eggs. Many other animals love eggs. A snake swallows the egg or maybe 2 eggs but than goes off for many days to digest them. We’re the eggs completely gone or were there parts of the eggs still in the nest. If there were parts of the egg still in the nest you maybe got raccoons, rats, weasels, Fox, or even another chicken that gets to like eggs. https://youtu.be/ixbyIIJ76DE

No they were in him, When I shot him it ran all the way through him and egg yolks came out, and he had three in him, thats as many as they lay a day.

Scrambled eggs and snake all in one preparation. That would be an interesting breakfast.

Ok....then I would catch him and relocate him 10 - 12 miles away. I would never kill him.

These work great for the venomous or doubtful ones. You grab them and put them in a cloth bag. For the non venomous ones you can grab them by hand just behind the head.. most of them will try to bite you so be careful. You can use the grabber for them to if you want to. I like the challenge of catching them by hand but I have been bitten several times.

You can also take a stick and pin their head down and then grab them behind the head. If you are doing this with a large snake such as a rattlesnake even with the snake tongs be sure to grab the tail also or that snake is going to have you doing a dance. They're strong as all get out. The ones to really watch out for are the copperhead and the moccasins they are both feisty. Mike

I don’t relocate the snakes . Me thinks God has them right where wants them . For all those guys who need the long device ? Just use what you have but be good at it .

Went out to my garden and saw a little Garter snake that slithered under something, I am happy to have him.
