Those rays are the same as sharks, you must clean and ice them immediately after catching or they build up ammonia in the blood. Other thing is the tail can put you in the hospital. Had a friend who got hit in the hand, had it treated by a doctor, and it still put him in ICU for a week.

I agree. Not worth it to me. Too many good eating fish in my area to go through cleaning and trying to eat something that’s not that good anyway. If Wayne wants them he can catch tons of them off the piers in south Florida. I’m pretty sure anyone else on the pier will give him the ones they catch also.
I don't taget them but I will eat them if it's all I caught.
Need help I have no computer smarts at all. Can someone please tell me how y'all post a picture. Please make it a simple like some of y'all we didn't even have calcalculator are computers in school we had to do a math problem and show how we got the answer.

Never attempted to eat one, but I always break that barb off with pliers before releasing them. Hopefully if they do grow back, they’re a blunt weapon.

jd it depends on what you are posting the pic from, either the phone or the computer. All phones are different in their procedure but i will try and explain computer and phone process.
Computer has the pic you want to send hit quote reply or reply here on the stage and you will see choose file at the bottom left corner. Hit choose file and that will take you to the file where you stored the pic you want to send . Click on the pic and then hit Add Attachment here on the FS. It takes 30 seconds sometimes to down load.
As for the phone go to quote reply or reply and hit choose file again. On my phone it goes to my picture folder and i tap on the pic i want to send and then hit add attachment.

We do what's call the stingrays shuffle here when walking in the surf, shuffling your feet and not picking your feet up when walking in the surf. The shuffling will scare them away.
The flaps have a filet on the top and bottom so you end up with 4 filets many compare the taste to scallops
Oh yeah guy, used to catch the sting rays and bat rays all the time. Here is what I did just filet the wings, because there is meat on top and bottom of the wings thats all. You, can take a cookie stamp and stamp out circles or just cut off strips. The meat may feel a little soft to you, but if thats the case and you prefer it more firmer then just put the meat in a bowl of milk in the fridge over night and it will firm up. Then you cook it like you would scallops rinse it first. Lots of time people mistake scallop for ray wings in stores, because they have similar taste. The main difference is the sand in real scallops. Kb
.
If you are ever in San Filipi, Mexico, on the beach . They will put them in taco's right there on the beach.
Looks like a horse shoe crab. Did see many in City Island NY years ago. Do not think good for eating?

Not a horse shoe crab. This is a horse shoe crab. Completely different animal.
That is a Skate fish which that stinger proves. They can lash out at you in the water if disturbed. Very painful as I've been told. The "wings" are edible and quite tasty. We used to cut 1 1/2 inch circles out of them and cook like scallops (fried). They are referred to as a poor man's scallop. Some grow to be about 8 foot, weighing over 100 pounds.
