What kinda gadget is this. What’s it used for. How deep will it go. What kinda fish would you use it for. Unscramble this bit of bait. NOAWDRSM.
Sandworm. One of my favorite biters.
I think that's some kind of planer. I know I've seen it but not sure where.

They use them like a down rigger but hooks directly to your fishing line. It dives to the desired depth you want then when a fish hits your lure or bait, there is a release on it allowing you to reel it in without struggling against the current or trolling speed. Salmon fisherman use them a lot in the PNW
Sandworm. Dipsydiver, used when fishing more than two rods trolling as a cheap outrigger, causes lure to travel out away from behind boat so it does not tangle with other lines. Will trip for retrieve for ease in retrieval.
yes mike I use them off & on tying in front of your line to run your lures deep diving crank baits or spoons plastics any lure u choose great on deep water lakes when trolling to cover a lot of water .example to troll around 30 ,40 ,50 ,feet of water in summer when them big boys are!
