Hello Folks,
All my Alameda County local lakes are still closed. I'm Jonezin to get my little freshwater boat out anaywhere near Livermore CA. I think I saw that the Sac River is allowing launches but was hoping to find something closer for trout (too late most likely), stripers, or catfish.

Anyone enjoying getting out in northern CA presently?

Please advise.

Thank you,
LaVern

San Pablo Reservoir is open with limited bank fishing, no boat rentals, but you can launch your own boat. Outboards must be 4 stroke, electric motors O.K. Trout are probably down to 30'. Bass, crappie, and catfish are biting in the Nature Preserve area-electric motors only. I don't know how big your boat is, but the wind picks up almost every afternoon

Hey BongsOnBob,
Thank you for the informative reply. Unfortunately, my Merc is a 2 cycle. I'll keep looking. I think I'm just going to take my Yak to Alpine Lake for some trout.
Take Care,
LaVern

Where is the "Alpine Lake" you are referin to? If it is the one up in the Sierras, Caples Lake has a good bite goin on right now.

Try Los Vaqueros Reservoir it's about 4 miles from Livermore. A big lake spot, check it out online. I've only been there twice, but will go back.

You can't use your own boat there. You can rent their boats OR fish from shore.

You might think about Bulards Bar for kokanee. Have you thought about lake Berryessa
