I enjoy fishing walleye with swimbaits in Minnesota. Of all the plastic baits available what is your go to swimbait you prefer?
Ie: brand, color and size.
Thanks

About a 4" gold Rapala original floater. I slow trolled them to find an area that I could cast with jig's or so. Worked good for me.

I have to recuse myself from this discussion for obvious reasons.

Fred, you know how humble I am. Wouldn’t be fair to myself to reveal my secrets or to you. I’m leaving my world of knowledge to you sir.

I have several that I use, some don't know mfg. It is in green tiger strip, jointed. 6" Some of the fish, used their teeth, and wore out and scratched a lot of the paint, but still catches fish.

Since when did a Rapala become a "swimbait" ?, a term most commonly used for a SOFT PLASTIC LURE, usually imitating a baitfish or worm/grub.
A Rapala is a HARD BAIT, a lipped crankbait.
Specific tips and advice are much more useful if everyone stays on the same subject, huh ?

To wit.....my go-to is pretty much anything by STORM LURES. Most of their patterns are life-like, articulated, and available in various sizes. The yellow perch pattern and the "baby rainbows" are quite effective, have even trolled both, and fooled some healthy brownies.
As STORM's slogan says on the package......"Gotta think like a fish.........no matter how weird it gets !"

Now think about it, aren’t all lures swim baits? Even a minnow under a cork.

That was my thinking also but excuse me if I am out of line. In rereading I guess it did say plastic - forgive me all.
