New fish finder a lowrance Hook2

I just had a new fish finder installed on my boat Portman Marina now at high speeds above 23 mile an hour I lose all contact and do not have any picture on the screen, my boat has a step down on the back is the transducer supposed to be mounted on the step down or above it on the transom, if anyone can help me I would sure appreciate it thank you

I have an older lowrance HDS that works fine at lower speeds but I guess due to disturbed water I lose the depth finder portion. Hope you get it figured out

Foxfire, it should be installed on the lowest part of the transom,which would on the step down. You should play around with the height and angle adjustments on your transducer. I have a Hook2 9 in my tin boat. It tops out @25mph, and I still get a fair bottom picture,unless there's a lot of silt or mud in the water. Make sure it's mounted behind clear bottom, not a rib or lifting strake.The transducer must be mounted in undisturbed water.

The transducer should be mounted with the bottom half below the boat and level with the transom.put a straight edge along the bottom of the boat along side the transducer angle the transducer about 1 degree pointing under the boat that way the water goes across the bottom face with no interference. I have a lowrance Fish finder and can read the bottom to 400' at 44 mph.

I have a Garmin on my bass boat, and lose picture at 26mph. At that speed, I feel I should be looking where I'm going not for fish! When I chart an area, for a map, I go at 20mph.

I have my Lowrance Hook2 transceiver mounted on the bottom of my pontoon and I have the same problem at speed. I put the straight edge on and was perfectly level. Pushed it down one click and will check it next time out but it won't be this weekend. Too many crazy people on this lake on weekends!

Bought a 9hook 2 had sonar problems constanly. Tech support could not fix problem. Had me send it back and sent me anouther. Stll had issues. One tech told me I got what I paid for. Said procceser was slow in that model and can't read at higher speeds. I had to send that one back and told me they were going to take me out of that one. Sent me a 9in elite ti and it works perfect. Touch screen, total scan tranducer has down scan and side scan. They made it right and I still support Lowrance.

On my boat years back did the set up myself, made sure the transducer is slightly below the hull line and no turbulence. Would always show at top speed, mainly for running back to base when the tide was down.

I have a triple shot transducer with my hook 2 and I had to adjust it a couple times before I was happy. Mine is about half of the transducer below bottom of the boat and on the same plane as the hull. Don’t get discouraged keep adjusting its a great unit.

I had someone install the transducer for me and they have the whole top of the transducer is 1/4 inch below the boat does that sound right to you

When I installed mine the bracket was in a position the the transducer would be below the hull with no turbulence around it. Meaning completely clear.

That's the way mine is now and at 20 miles an hour I lose all contact with the bottom and doesn't give me any display

Have you tried lining it up as horizontal, when you are at higher speeds the planing will change, try adjusting for how the boat will be running. When stable it will have to be set at a slightly different angle

I tried that and I think the whole transducer need to be up everything I'm reading says that half of a transducer should be in plain in line with the bottom of the boat
