I moved to alabama 4 years ago and bought a house on the AL River in Millbrook. Have a great pier and kayak and fish as often as possible. I’ve probably have caught 5 fish. Yet serious fishermen all hover at my pier and say it’s a “sweet spot” I’m trying to catch bass but would be happy w anything. I’ve tried all live and “fake”bait. Best luck hands down for me is a watermelon lizzard. I welcome advice.

Welcome to the Forum, River Rat. If you have a pier, then you are a Pier Rat.
I have found through the years that if I really want bass to eat I go to the old faithful Purple artificial rubber night crawler fished on a Texas rig of 1/4 ounce slip weight. If that fails I use Sweet Anise Spice liquid. Soak the worms in the liquid for a couple days and fish with them. Good Luck!!!!!
Thanks! I don’t even want to eat them, I just want to catch them! I’ll try your recommendation!
“Apiers” that’s what I am then! 😊
