Thank you, I thought everything was illegal in California or known to cause cancer.
Have a great life or is that illegal also.

Boy ain't that the truth. I'm reminded of it ever Sept when I go back to Texas for dove season. SO much more a person can do back there than out here. Like shoot lead bullets and buy ammo just to name a couple.

Wow no wonder. It should be illegal. I deep fry it with beer batter. It was amazing. I'm in central California, now you got me thinking if it's legal or not. Gonna have to look at the fine print now.

Using corn is legal. Chumming in CA is not.

Where can I look up the chummimg laws for California? Last thing I want is a fat ticket. Cali gets very expensive when it comes to violating fish and game. Thank you everybody for the input.

I sent DFW an email re the corn. Got a reply fairly quickly. Check the DFW website.

White corn is legal in Oregon. Yellow is NOT. Yellow skin doesn't break down in Trout and Kokanee so White is legal. They found a lot of dead fish with Yellow in their guts and experimented. The white corn skin is digestible and doesn't kill some fish types.

Green Giant white shoepeg corn for Kokanee in Washington. Donā€™t leave home without it.

I wonder if white homnie would work. It's still a corn.

I've tried hominy and couldn't keep it on the hook.

Same in Tahoe. Tip a wedding ring spinner with it.

I soak mine in tuna oil or minced garlic. I make my own wedding rings with a slight tweak.

I think hominy is too soft and mealy to stay on a hook. We always use the white corn niblets. They work great for stayin on the hook.

The white corn dyed with pautzkes dye works great on Kokanee. Put on 1 kernel behind a little spoon and it will last for week in the refrigerator. And the white corn is legal in many of our lakes in Northern California, but not in some streams.

Okay guys I have another dumb question for you.
What is the ā€œwedding ringā€ that you folks are talking about.
Seems like I learn at least one new fishing idea every day from you intelligent gentlemen.

Hey Volkman Iā€™m here. And doing well. Sorry but l havenā€™t seen any post youā€™ve written pertaining to dozing. You been pushing some dirt? Iā€™ve been wrenching and bustā€™n knuckles. Had to drop the belly pans on my track loader to replace the seal on the output shaft on the torque converter. It was puking 5 gallons of oil a day. Had to rebuild the coupler between the t/c and tranny. What a bitch. Also replaced a couple of hoses while I was in there. So ya Iā€™ve been busy. And my shop isnā€™t big enough for my loader so yep Iā€™m laying in the dirt or mud if the weather doesnā€™t cooperate. But itā€™s done now so Iā€™m happy. Iā€™m getting to old for this kindā€™a sh$$. But I keep on doing it. I keep forgetting that Iā€™m retired and Iā€™m supposed to be fishing. šŸ˜œ

Yeah, I been pushing mesquite bushes and their ancient roots out of the ground with that underpowered 850B JD dozer. I told everyone that you operate a dozer, I just tear things up with that machine. Those old mesquite roots are tough. It doesn't take a real big one to completely stop that dozer. Damned Hydrostatic drive won't even spin a track. I miss my Cat.

The JD needs a new alternator. It is so well designed that you have to drop the right rear sprocket to get the fan belt on that cantankerous thing. Actually we broke several of the thirty year old bolts off and haven't gotten to the fan yet. Decided to put a solar trickle charger on it and forget about the alternator.

Hey, I'm just glad to hear from you and I am glad you are just old but not dead. Write to you later.

You can fish with corn for bait, however, you cannot chum the water with corn in Cali.
Believe me, if a game warden see you chumming the water you will get a ticket.
NO, I didn't get one, but they're pretty strict on things like that. Just Sayin.

Heck you can get a ticket for breathing in Cali...
