3/8 ounce jig black and blue or natural green colors, with matching craw or creature trailer (specifically Rage Craw and Bandito Bug). Texas rigged Bandito Bug with unpegged bullet weight. Whopper Plopper 90 (if you're pond fishing from the shore, go bigger if you're on a bigger body of water). Happy fishing!

It depends on the fish you are after. Some are cold weather, some hot weather, some are deep and some are shallow. I think everyone is telling you Bass fishing. Dan
For Bass. Stupid tube in green pumpkin with purple flakes or green pumpkin with end dyed chart.
recently, my son and I fished Lake Blackshear in Georgia. the kitchen sink, two hours, different presentations, different spots, nada. I finally switched to an old standby … a Texas-rigged, 6" dark blue, plastic worm and caught the attached. I like being able to throw it anywhere without much chance of being snagged. I pre-rig maybe three rods, one is always a 6" plastic of some kind.
Berkley Flicker Shad and as a search bait, jigs with an attached flutter spoon.
Rapala, 1-1/2" long black on top with white bottom and a red dot at front. This is a floater diver and works great on Bass and crappie. Have also caught trout and a lot of other types of fish.
Anyone ever heard of a jitterbug ? If your fishing for bass, the jitterbug is one of the best topwater lure's you will ever buy. I have bought three in different styles and colors and have never not had a bite early in the morning just before sunrise. Plus there is nothing like having a bass explode on your topwater lure just before the sun comes up !

Don't know where you're fishing but my go-to bait is a plastic worm. Colors Junebug, Fire & Ice, watermelon, pumpkin seed.
Also square billed Shad Rap in shad or crawfish color.

I too like the Whopper Plopper. I like to get a 2 - 4 lb bass on a surface hit.

Sinko #297 will catch bass from California to Connecticut
Chartreuse and white chatter bait or spinner bait. they both work well.
For me you can't beat an old frog pattern lazy like. Hard to find now but the new firetiger pattern is good also.

1/16 - 1/4 oz orange jig tipped with a minnow or crawler. Very consistent.
Took eight bass with the Whopper Plopper yesterday. Doing lake fishing in southern Indiana. No real size to any of them. Fished from 5:30 to 11:30 A.M. It's always fun to get a surface hit.
