Looks like the same fish - we called them jacks - and they were good eating. Half a world away, who knows?

We actually call them "Canal Tuna" here in SW Florida. Pound for pound, one of the hardest fighting fish there is. Under 5 Lbs and they are excellent eating as well, fillet and bake.

that's known as a jack crevalle here in texas. good shark bait, but that's about it, other than the good fight. meat is dark red and bloody.

What's the color of the meat got to do with it? Ahi tuna is dark meat and it's delicious. Thresher shark is also, and that's good eating? Just asking.
