Everybody done squawking?

I live in Central Florida but am very interested in fishing for Peacock Bass.
IIRC, there are canals with Peacock Bass in Miami-Dade.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
TIA! Larry

Thank you Ajole, I've never fished for Peacock but most the films I've seen the fisherman are using some sort of top water bait. Hope one of the articles below help

So sorry.

So much flapping about nothing.

Hey Ajole, It's nothing personal, we just like to know what part of the country you're from. Who would you rather respond to your question? Somebody from Florida who might have information you can use OR somebody from Cali who has never even seen a peacock bass live and in person.

AND to Ibclyde. The only reason we wanted to know peoples PH numbers and/or emails was to have emergency contacts for the people we care about on here that suddenly stop posting. One day they are actively posting and suddenly the next day they aren't and after several days absent we are concerned for their welfare. If we have no way of contacting you other than the FS site we might never know what happened to you.
If you don't have any friends on here that you care for or that care for you I'm sorry for you. There are a lot of the guys and gals on here that I've become friends with. Some have become like family and we would feel a GREAT loss if something happened to them and we had no way of finding out. There are a lot of us that are in constant prayer for our fellow FS users. I for one am SO grateful for all the prayers that so many on here are sayin for my wife and me right now we need them.
My hope for you is that you can feel that way with some of us on here as well. If you're not able to or want that kind of bond with us, please don't resent those of us who feel that way and have love and concern for our brothers and sisters on here.
This is a fishin site and we love to talk fishin. However, it is MUCH more to a great many of us on here than just that alone. Hope you can understand what this site is ,and means, to a great many of us. Thanks IBC, hope you have a good day and you can get out fishin. Tight lines. Steve

We can't answer if we don't know where people are posting from. Its only polite to show your area and state so you can get the RIGHT info and no guessing.

The Peacock Bass is technically not in the Bass family. It's part of the cichlid family and is native to the Amazon, Brazil, and other South American countries. They were introduced to South Florida in 1984 to prey on other non-native species, Tilapia and Oscar.

Saw, you're a better man than I Gunga Din. Have always had a problem with someone asking for a favor while they insult you to your face. I'll just keep my pie hole shut on this topic. LOL

Thank you, Saw. The response you gave explains "our mission" to a "T". You could not have given a better reasoning for why so many of us start our day by logging on and finding out the going's on, all over the nation and even in China, thanks to Canuckus (!), Europe, and I believe we had a New Zealander for a time, along with a few Aussie types.
As for not wanting to share your info...... the metrics @ GOOGLE FOUND OUT MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE ABOUT YOU, JUST BY YOUR LOGGING IN TO THIS SITE OR ANY OTHER SITE YOU CHOOSE. (Ever wonder how that ad about something you looked at 4 days ago, just popped up ? Why the insurance rates FOR YOUR AGE-GROUP or for your locale ?.....they know about YOU, already.)

If you simply wish to remain anonymous everywhere, at all times.....stay off the internet. This present "stay away, stay home" thing ought to be your bailiwick in spades.

It seems to me that folks that go to this website want to talk about fishing. The website asks you provide your location. It doesn’t ask for your address or phone #.
Maybe this isn’t the site for you if you just want to complain about things. life isn’t perfect but why make it worse over little things

Does not ask for your address.

There are at least two that have put together spread sheets and can pointe you in the direction of someone else that is close and might/most likely has good info for the area close to you and are willing to share information on your specific species.
