Go anyway. They can’t stop you

Yes they can. They got barricades on all parking entrances. The shore towns have no parking all over.
Any spots that are open are overcrowded. The cops patrol regularly. I still fish the local pond and park that the town kept open. I do see the garbage people leave in the stores parking lots “plgs”!

Our Democrat governor shut down all fishing in the Great State of Washington, but the ban is supposed to end May 4, so we could go fishing May 5. Not holding my breath, they want to keep us down as far as they can.

Yes, we get to get back to fishing and hunting again on Tuesday of next week.
I witnessed the craziness that was occurring at our local launch ramps, lakes and ponds just before the governor closed things down. I was shocked at the lack of self control that people where displaying. The opening will be monitored closely so my hope is that everyone will act responsibly.
Personally, I’ll be turkey hunting next week.
Good luck and best wishes to all. I am focusing on my many blessings in life; a lovely wife of 46 years, very good health for both of us and all of our loved ones, no immediate serious threats to our financial situation, and the common sense to not get too worked up about things that I really have no control over.
Peace and better times are ahead. Try to find joy in the present.

Here is the post from WDFW regarding the re-opening here in Washington.

Washington Fishing and Hunting along with State Parks and Lands will open on May 5. Facilities at such state access points may not be open yet depending on whether staff are available to do so. I get a kick out of the sea lawyers here who interpret Law. The Washington Governor shut down what he shut down on tge advice of many and used his executive power to impose a state emergency provision to do so. It lasts 30 days without a continuation approved by the Legislature and in that context had the force of Law. I personally think he over reacted but he did have the power to do what he did. As to a personal Right to Hunt and Fish, you don’t. You and everyone in the state whether users or lookers own all Wildlife in consort. As in The State Owns All Wildlife and all state Lands. We have hired or appointed agencies to manage those resources and given them tge responsibility to set seasons, etc.through the Line of aauthority the Governor is their boss and in consort with them, commissioners, Departments, etc. a season or all seasons can be shut down. Remember that 30 day rule. Seasons can be canceled with little justification.danger to the resource. Danger to the public. Actual or perceived. Those of you who don’t respect that reality can certainly for go a license, or go fish or hunt during a closed season, but you can be ticketed and fined if caught, if the Game agents want to push it. And that’s just the reality with no bravado. . Remember I did say I think the Governor over reacted and didn’t really need to shut down fishing and hunting. I’m a WA Master Hunter and Hunter Ed Instructor. And I’m not telling anyone what they must do.

I can’t see where not allowing fishing or hunting would help stop the virus. Sorry

Sorry if a lot of you are unhappy with the restrictions. It’s hard, it would be harder to lose a loved one to this horrible virus. Everyone I know has a family member that is deemed high risk. My husband is a diabetic over 60
It may be easier for me to say this as our state did not shut down the waterways. I’m lucky, I’m within sight and walking distance to the water. I could go and bank fish at any time.
I really did not join this group to see posts of Democrat or Republican bashing. If it continues I will not continue to follow or participate. It would make me sad,
I’m on here to learn.

Yup, can’t sit 15’ up in a tree stand alone in woods. Ya gotta stay home and keep 6’ away from your own family. Makes PERFECT sense 🙄🤪🤮

Don’t much care for the democrat governor of Connecticut but he got my attention when he opened the season two weeks early to help with covid cabin fever. Lots of social distancing fishing, sometimes even the fish!
