The news this morning was telling of an individual who was feeding the hungry thru donations and taking money out of his own pocket. He was running a small business out of a small pull behind trailer before Covid-19 and now he's doing this to feed people in need during this economic down turn. What they didn't say was who or where he was.

So far my family has not been affected by this emergency, and I'd like to find an individual or small group helping people like this. The church has an ample supply and donations to help out but I'd like to find someone like this guy to at least donate some cash to. Does anyone know anyone not affiliated with any large originization, feeding the hungry here in this country.

We give to the big guys but seems like a lot of that money goes to overhead, salaries etc. I'd like to give to people on the front lines making a difference. Any help appreciated

Noble of you Ivey. Well done!
I don't know of anyone locally helping feed the hungry, but my wife has been making PPE for those in need (Face-Masks). She's donated her time and expertise helping one of the local hospitals. As word got out, she's also donating them to family and close friends. She donates it all, giving of her time, materials, postage, etc. She did ask for some local community donations of elastic, as that's getting hard to find. That's just one of the things I love about her. She's a special lady!

I love to see how individuals use their special talents for the good of others, especially in these unprecedented times of need. That's just one of the things that makes our country so special!

Good luck Ivey, I'm sure your support will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Ivey,
I go to a small Cowboy Church here in Perry, Ks. Ten years ago, my wife and I helped plant this church, along with the Pastor and a few other families. We have what we call a “food distribution” ministry that is run by a few people in our church, who all donate their time. This ministry started small at first but has grown to the point of having to have an extra room built on to the church to store food and refrigerators. I built this room a few years ago and it has always been pretty full since then. We feed about 100 families a month, giving out food twice a month. There is never ANY charge or proof of qualifications required of recipients. If this is something you are interested in donating to, just PM me and I can give you any further info you need. It would be a tax deductible donation as well with a receipt given. You can also get info on the Church web site:
crossroadscowboychurch.net
Note: Donations need to have a notation of “food distribution” on checks.
Thank Ivey

My wife is like this also. It started with family then progressed to others. Daughter-in-law works at hospital. They got some also. Son is a Lieutenant on the local police department and ask for more than a few which he received. He asked for them to be black with a thin blue through them. That is what he got. she makes me proud also.

They had a piece on the local news about a restaurant that was taking donations then donating food to local shelters. Helps keep the staff employed and feeds the hungry, win-win. Maybe the local tv station has a link for something like that on their website.
