Hi All,
I'm a new person to this forum. I'm a long-time striped bass surf fisherman. For many years I have fished Island Beach State Park which ends at the north jetty of the Barnegat Inlet. I have also traveled to Montauk Point on Long Island to fish for stripers. However, I now live in south central Pennsylvania about a half-hour south of Harrisburg, Pa. Can anyone help me to find out where the main striped bass migration is that can be reached by surf casting, not by a boat? And when they will be off the beaches of Island Beach State Park?

I suspect the striped bass migration would be in the area of island beach state park by now.
The park is in fact closed and reports aren’t coming in.
You might try calling grumpy tackle or Betty and nicks tackle to see if they have any updates.
Tight lines !

Thanks. I was actually thinking of that. I started dealing with Betty and Nicks in the 70's when John Bushell Sr. was running the shop. After he died, I was dealing with his son John Bushell, Jr. The father was top notch and so is his son. During the 70's, 80's, and 90's, it was only a two hour drive to get to Island Beach. Now that I'm in south central Pa., it's a 3 hour drive. But, it's still worth it.

I know the drive is a pain. I make the trip from Doylestown a few times each fall. Worth the trip even if I don’t catch anything.

WE HAVE REDFISH HERE. ITS OUR STRIPPER. AND OF COURSE THE GREATER AMBERJACK. BUT DONT COMPARE THE TWO . AJ COULD PULL A STRIPER INSIDE OUT OF TIED TAIL TO TAIL.

I agree 100%. I’m currently thinking of moving from Pa to Fl, maybe near Naples or port Charlotte.
Any recommendations on best areas to buy so I can feed my fishing addiction?

Fish finder , nice to talk to a philly guy. Explore the panhandle of Florida . The fishing is excellent the oysters are good too. It’s heavy with military bases . So crime is low . The whitest sand beaches and won’t burn your feet . Cost of living is low compared to east coast , no state taxes . We love it here . Fishing year round . Many species to choose from . They do close seasons due to govt needs . Lol but there’s always a fish to catch . Fresh water bass are fun on golf corses . I live on one and fish them
Too. I would compare the area to LBI 30 years ago . Or Chinqueteague VA . PM me if ya need any info .

Google "on the water magazine". They have a graphic report that shows the current migration of stripers up the east coast
