I was just gifted a 7hp Sea King Motor by my neighbor but I have no idea what model it is?
It has a rather square Red and Black motor cover and I've yet to see one like it?
I can't find a stamp, badge or anything on the motor...I haven't tried to start it yet...but I do see that it doesn't have an air filter.
Any help would be appreciated!

Don't start that thing until you know whether it is a two stroke or a four. A two struck MUST have oil in the gas and will simply die forever if it doesn't. A four stroke doesn't do so well with oil in the gas. It is essential you get that answer. It is probably a two stroke.

I had a Sea King 8 HP. It was manufactured by McColluch, it was a two stroke motor 40:1 oil/gas ratio. Big and heavy motor, but was able to troll really slow with it. Could look over the transom and see the prop turn (without a blur).
