The population of Minnesota is 5.611 million, 1.87 million licenses.
Florida's 21.3 million, 2.66 million licenses.Plus thousands of seniors (over 65) residents that are not required to get a license to fish. There are a lot of us in Florida.
The variety of Freshwater and Saltwater (inshore and offshore) fish species. DO YOU WANT TO COMPARE?
How is that for data?

Texas is a great state for fresh or saltwater fishing, more lakes with giant bass than you can shake a stick at and the saltwater fishing off the coast is great too. But you better be able to handle the heat, being from up north. 100 degree plus days in the summertime.
