A native American boy was in college and people were making fun of his name a year later he visited his parents and asked them how they came to call their children such weird names his father said, ' When your brother was born I looked out of the teepee and saw an eagle flying so We called him little eagle. when your sister was born I looked out of the teepee and saw a deer grazing in the field so we named her little fawn, Why do you ask Two Dogs F_%#ing?

Research where this name calling originates. What part of the country seems to be angry.

Me to CBD meant to say something totally different. Haven’t had coffee yet. We were up most of the nite. Really severe weather.

My wife gets ticked with me because I sleep through bad weather which keeps her up. My thing is I either have the hatches battened prior or I don't and if it's the latter I ain't getting up to correct it. Mike

You did have a little pucker time last night. My nephew that recently moved from foxworth now lives in Sandy Hook. The tornado went through his pasture & took out a large pear tree behind his house but that's all the damage they had. My niece was in Purvis & hid in a closet. She's lucky the storm moved north. My sister in Oloh had a lot of 1 inch hail. I'm guessing that you came through fine since you're on the forum stiring up hate & discontent. According to the weather man we're in for it starting tomorrow through wednesday night. At least here at mom's we have a good cellar to get in without going outside. You be careful MT & keep an eye on the sky. When you're in Columbia eat a rabbit sandwich & think of me. Tight lines.

Hate and discontent,I like that. For you my friend,I will have one tomorrow. As far as the storm, the tornado passed over our house and touched down several hundred yards away. It’s the one that went through Purvis. Once again lots of damage. You be safe also.

I don’t know what the Native Americans called earthquakes but I remember hearing that they called tornadoes ‘ Dead man walking ‘.

I have no 1st hand experience with earthquakes. All I know has been from tv or newspapers. To me the ground starts shaking & buildings go to falling & sometimes the ground opens up & swallows whatever. No warning. When it starts, where do you go for safety? With a tornado a cloud comes up & a storm develops. Radar is very effective in showing cloud rotation & other signs of a potential tornado. Warnings are broadcast on tv, radio & even from a cell phone. A lot of cities have storm shelters. Safe rooms are common in many homes & other homes have underground "cellars" for safety. That's what we have here. It's built underground, of substantial concrete, & the entrance is right off the utility room. There is food & water, candles, lanterns, & comfortable seating. If a tornado completely destroys this home we will be safe & can rebuild. I suppose no matter where we call home we get comfortable with whatever conditions exist there. Familiarity breeds content.

Well said bottomcoon. Whatever it might be it’s bad. By the way, had one today that almost took 3 hands to hold it together. Talk about messy. It was just for you.

Bottomcoon you mentioned shelters. My uncle, moms brother, dug a shelter be hind his home for him and his family. When I say it was large and nice it was. Anyway years later he was on his death bed and with family around he asked my dad to come close to tell him something. He left a wife and two late teen kids. Two weeks after he passed he went to their home and asked aunt Shirley to go into the shelter with him. After entering dad moved a wood stove and behind was a hole in the wall. They removed five paper grocery bags and to their amazement the bags were packed with money. When all was said and done they counted $270,000.00 and today aunt Shirley at 88 years old has no explanation.
