Hi All - My name is Don Goodman, 71 years young, and I am making my first trip to Antero Reservoir this week. I live in Westminster, about 2.5 hours East. I have read and been told there are some nice size trout at Antero Reservoir, however, I will be Shore fishing. Would anyone be able to tell me if there is Shore fishing available? I am a very early riser, so getting out there at first light is not a problem. Thank you all in advance! - Don
Welcome Don. Please put your location into your profile, city and state, so we all know where you're at. This forum is global and we have people from all over on here. I, for one, don't have any idea where Antero Reservoir or Westminster are at. Please let us all know so we can help you out better, maybe hook you up with someone in your area.
Thank you Spiritof27. I appreciate the tip!
Thank you for updating and adding your location. I would have never guessed Colorado. There are several from your state on here and I'd guess you're going to be hearing from them. I don't know if you can get in there to fish, but if you do get there early in the morning, that's usually when the big ones come in close to feed on the littler ones. That's probably your best shot at a "big" one from the bank. Hopefully you can give me some tips, I've been to several different lakes since the first of the year, and I haven't caught one yet. I've tried a little bit of everything with no luck whatsoever. Are the lakes in Colorado closed up like the ones here? It's hard to find a spot where you can go.
No Sir, for the most part, the lakes are all open. The State Parks are open, however, at this point, due to Corona Virus, there is still no camping allowed. Social distancing must be opserved. If you do visit Colorado, 11 Mile Reservoir, Tarryall, and Antero are all considered to be pretty good to us anglers, without having to climb too high up in the Rockies. Gold Kastmasters are my go to when it comes to jiggin’ for Trout!
Good luck keep us posted on your trip. My name is Mike B. from southern Cali. I enjoy all fishing, but I mostly fish from shore in the ocean.

I've fished Elevenmile. Been 30 years, but from what I read, the fishing there is as good as ever. I always fished there at night. Only other place I limited out was Eagle Lake, CA, which is the other limit-giver for me.

Colodon,
I'm from Colorado Springs. You might check with some of the bait shops and/or CPW and make sure the ice is off. I haven't fished Antero

Welcome to the stage LJ. Southern Cal where? Please add your city and state to your profile in "location". There are quite a few on here from that area.

Welcome Colodon, I haven't been to that state since the early 70's. My dad rented a motorhome for a week and we traveled all up and down that state. Had a blast. Good luck with your trip and show pictures. Of the state and of the fish caught. Love to go back sometime.
