Do you eat those? We used to get them all the time. Nothing that big but my gramma used them for fertilizer in her garden so I suppose you could say we DID eat them in a way. They got so thick in the rivers back home we had to thin them out a little.

I started fishing for them three years ago here in the Connecticut River,it's within walking distance, but I still drive. There are many people down there that are from different parts of the world that fish for them, some do not even speak English,I offer my catch and get a big smile back, enough language for me that says yes and thank you.I have yet to eat one,but I have been told by a Russian fellow down there to keep them in a tub of clean water for a week,it will flush out the muddy taste.Gotta change water and use a bubblier too.

I just may try that.
