Best spinning reel for finesse fishing?

I managed to snag an Avid X for a pretty good deal ($180) and it’s a 6’9” ML Extra fast. I am going to use this rod for dropshotting, ned rigs, and senkos. I need a reel to pair with this rod and I’m dumbfounded by the amount of reels and reel sizes on the market. I would like to keep it under $250 for the reel. What model and size would work for my setup?

I use the 2500 size. You can get a Daiwa BG for $83 on Amazon.

A lot of it depends on what kind of line and what sickness do you want to use. If you’re using braid you can get away with a smaller reel but if you want to use something like 10 pound fluorocarbon.

With your budget you could get an extremely lightweight real, which matters more if you end up getting a bigger one to run the thicker line. If you are just going to run braid on it then you can go for a smaller reel and won’t need to spend as much to still get something that’s not monstrously heavy.

Piscifun reels are fairly nice for the money

Finesse fishing is all about the rod
So the reel does not matter much really
However I have Pflueger Presidents on my Avid and Legend series StCroixs and very satisfied

PS
I also use fluorocarbon line on them

I use the old Daiwa Silver Series reels. 700c, 1300c, 2600C (for salmon). I only fish trout and salmon. Built like TANKS!!!

For finess fishing, I just use utralight gear. Daiwa, of course. 4'6" rods and Silver Series reels - 500c, 700c. Vintage and tough as nails.
