Stay At Home? No Way

A growing number of states and counties across the nation are cracking down on residents' movements and being ordered to stay home. Long Beach Island NJ – 18 miles of coast line – has closed it’s beaches – no doubt a knee jerk reaction after seeing the elbow to elbow spring breakers in Florida. What an over reaction. The only people on the chilly spring time beaches here are well spaced surf fishermen (and women) and occasional beach combers & dog walkers.
Well, the populace pushed back (Democracy in action) and low and behold, changes were made. On Tuesday, 3/24,20, Ship Bottom backed off and has announced it is not closing oceanside beaches to springtime public usages.
The Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA) has sent a written request to the Superintendent of New Jersey State Police seeking Essential Status Designation for New Jersey’s recreational fishing industry during the crisis. Hopefully a positive response is forthcoming.
Many officials connect virtually anything with the spread of CV and will stop at nothing. It seems that not having a good grasp on where the true spreading is taking place has triggered this shotgun approach.
Remember that old football defensive lineman mantra, “I just tackle the whole backfield then sort through it to find the quarterback.” Well, that broad approach might not work in singling out the main sources of CV spread.

Ah - Spirit you recognized Jack Ham. I was waiting to get called out on him, he was a linebacker, not a lineman. His time and mine at PSU overlapped by 2 years

I've always liked linebackers and safeties. Jack is one of the best ever. That was a pretty good linebacking trio. Pretty good. Maybe the greatest ever.
