Has anyone heard anything about first day of Trout being called due to the Coronavirus, not sure if it is truth or fiction?

I've heard nothing about it. I usually ditch opening day on general principles.

I read an article on-line, said opener was postponed until April 18. Best you check with local fish and game. I'm in California and I haven't heard anything about it being changed here, but it's not until the last Saturday in April. That's for most streams.

Fishings open 365 days here in Wyo. But our lake us still locked up with ice. A couple spots open but the good stuff still froze but not safe.

Buuur. I have heard if powdered EGGS but sounds more like a Frozen Egg or cold to say the least. Ranch was 20 over night one night. Makes the mud become more of trip hazard rather than messy with it frozen boot prints twist your ankle

Opening day in southeastern pa delayed to April 18. Mentor day is April 11. Most of the lakes are stocked for the year. Why , I do not know. There are lakes you may fish now but must throw back. Look on pa fish web site. Bait stores are closed. Back to old time velveta cheese , corn and digging worms. Spoons and jigs.

A lake near our home is stocked by the state, and also by a local fishing club. The fishing club folks obtain quite a number of trophy sized trout from a private hatchery, stock them in the lake, and hold a children’s fishing contest on opening day. There has not been any announcement about the status for this year, but I suspect since it draws such a great crowd that it may be postponed or canceled.

This is a crazy time we live in. Hopefully, this will soon end and we can get back to normal. Whatever normal is. I like the old days when we had plenty and thought this would never end. Sad to say the good days or over. It sounds like a country song.

In CT, the governor just opened fishing season for the year (all species ). Trout season was due to open 4/11.

It was on our local news the other night that all trout fishing will start on the same date. I think it is April 18th. The only difference is that they will do all of the stocking at one time, not broken up over a period of time. I'm in eastern Pa.

Sad to say I think you might be right or at least until they find some kind of vaccine for this mess and the phones and internet and drugs..
