Got lucky yesterday. Hooked 5, landed 3. Nothing better than catching steelhead on poorly home-tied flies🤣. Nonetheless, I’ll take it!! Middle fish measured out at 41”. Not a P.R., but close!! You gotta love the fight in these chromers!

Those are some beautiful fish slayer. Where did you catch them? Where you from? What river? Please add your location to your profile so we don't have to ask each time you post. You're gonna get a lot of attention on here if you regularly post photos like that. So tell us about yourself and how you fish.

Portland, Oregon. I just updated profile. I enjoy throwing flies on the north coast rivers. I’m lucky enough to have a dozen different rivers to choose from. Everything is low and clear right now, so I was sight fishing on 3 different rivers. I enjoy solitude when fishing, so most locations are known but hard to get to. Keeps most people away and fish less spooky. Yesterday I fished the Trask, North Fork Trask, and the Kilchis. The big guy was caught on the Kilchis, other two on the N.F.. I know it’s always the one that got away....but I lost a big native buck that looked 43+”. Now I know where he abides. Had great dreams about him last night. Oh well, guess I head back Sunday 👍🏻

Welcome to the Forum, Slayer. Ya know, you were one of the few that caught fish yesterday and beautiful fish they were. Thanks for sharing the location and the pictures. You must have tied those flies exactly right. You are GREAT!

That’s a great day! I was out in SW Washington mining for steel myself yesterday. Beautiful day!
Snow is falling and sticking here today. I think an afternoon on the river bank with the snow falling around me sounds pretty good.
Thanks for sharing and congratulations on a memorable outing.

Welcome to the Stage Slayer. Beautiful steelheads. Notice all were still in water. Do you release them so you can catch them again. There’s a lot of catch and release members in the Stage. Just curious. I’m down in East Texas and have never had the privilege of some Northern fishing. Enjoyed the pictures.

All native fish and have to be released. Oregon allows you to remove the fish from the water, Washington state doesn’t. I’ve gotten pretty good at tailing my fish and releasing after a quick picture. Most of the time I don’t get video. I’m not much of a fish eater, so I locate native rivers and like to squish my barbs.
