Welcome to the Forum, Melvin. There more bass fishermen on here than any other kind of fishermen, but I'm not one of them and I can't help you but I'm sure you will get a lot of help. Please put your city and state on your profile page. There could be help living right next to you.
I'm in Meridian, MS. Any advice is good. I want to try it next week, since the weather is warming up. Thanks for the response.

Sorry Melvin, I'm in Cali. Maybe someone from Ms. will be along shortly. If not I can tell you how I catch bass out here.

Howdy, Melvin, I'm in north Fl. I used to fish every day, but Now I've gotten to old, fat, and ugly to do that any more. I have found what works in one place will work in any other place, with maybe some subtle changes. I used spinner baits to locate fish. You can fish all depths from top to bottom, you should be able to feel the blades turning over as you retrieve it. You also want to bump your bait into what ever cover that may be there, like logs, brush, or weeds. Those bumps seem to trigger strikes. Remember if your don't get hung up from time to time your not fishing. When you locate the fish slow down a little by changing to plastic worm type bates. Different colors work better in different bodies of water. There is a lake close to my house that I knew there was some really nice bass in it but I never caught any there. One day my brother-in-law from WV brought a big bag of worms from up there down here. The feller who made the worms had gotten the color wrong. They were supposed to be root beer but they were darker. Well, we caught bass in that lake with them, mostly small with just enough Hawgs in there to suit me. My brother-in-law left those worms with me. I caught bass in that lake until the last of them were gone and never caught an other one there. Never could grt the same color again. All that being said on color for plastic worms, me personally, black has been my go to color for many years. Start with something you have faith in because you will fish it better.
