Looks like Jed is from California
Isn’t that the profile

We use Rosie Reds a lot here but mostly in the winter for ice fishing
They are a very hardy minnow in the cold
But don’t do well in the warm weather up here

We use them ice fishing as well. I will use them in spring until the water reaches 60 degrees, and on warm days I put some ice cubes They don't hold up as well in heat. I use fatheads or Gulp in warmer conditions.

Don't use ice cubes freeze a bottle of water, the chlorine in the drinking water kills them faster.

Only if you're from Calif. There aren't many towns around Yosemite.

A friend & I were camped out fishing cedar bluff reservoir in western kansas. After the first fruitless day we decided to try minnows. The bait shop guy said all he had was the red minnows. We tried a few then went back for more. Those pale red minnows worked great in that lake. The red comes from a dye put in the water that doesn't harm the minnow. I have also used green worms but couldn't see that the color helped.

They have a red lined side minnow in Lake Tahoe. They work for the fish in there.
