This is a 6 pound bass my grandson caught on the James river in Richmond Virginia on Sunday

Great catch he’ll be ready for tournament fishing before you know it. I’ll bet he had a smile from ear to ear. Looks like you have a fishing buddy for life now. Tight lines.

Always someone wanting to rain on a parade. Maybe the grandson shoulda held up the fish and called it 12 lbs. Some people's kids.geez💩

Then all the Debbie Downers would have said “that’s only an 8 pound fish not 12” 😂

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But I don't think that's always true. Have you ever seen a football game on tv when the cameraman is in the end zone behind the punter or receiver and the other goalposts look like they are a mile away instead of 100 yards? I see pictures all the time of fish and deer that don't look like what they should be wether too big or too small. Sunshine, shadows, angles, bad cell phones, bad photographers! The grandfather said the kid caught a 6 lb. Bass that is good enough for me. Way to go kid! I am envious.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But ... (show quote)

If i had caught it, I'd a called in a 6 pounder too, maybe more. But then, I'm old and can't read my scale very well anymore. Ha Ha.

Congrats to the young fellow. I love the James River. Fish there every year for stripers when in season and the monster cats that always hang around. Best catfish fishery in the east in my opinion.
