I have a question? If a pond doesn't have minnows or tad poles or brim or just any kind of bait fish does that mean there' s no fish in the pond so don't waste your time fishing.

Welcome to the fishing stage rDaLLaS. Where abouts would this pond be located? You should update your profile and put your location in there so we all know where you at and we don't have to ask every time you post. Now having said that, when is fishing ever a waste of time? That's why we call it fishing and not catching. I personally do not measure the success of any of my fishing adventures by the quantity of the fish I caught. But that's me, and can appreciate anyone's (almost) point of view. So my answer to your question, from my perspective, is - maybe. Why not throw in a line with a hook on it and see what happens? Now, some on here might say - yup, no fish there, don't bother. And others might say, yep they're probably eatin crayfish, or leaches or bugs, go for it. My answer - go find out.

I fished a small lake years ago that everyone always said there wasn't any good fish in it. Caught 17decent sized bass in about 30 minutes so... give it a try

A couple of years ago was hunting one morning and walked past a pool no more than 40 yards across. Went back a week later and tossed a lure and hooked up a 3lb bass. The next week went back and caught 4 so anywhere is worth a try

small ponds need baitfish, crawdads, bugs, frogs or what ever if you expect target fish to thrive..
It don't mean there are no fish there but it does mean its not a healthy fishery!!

You never catch anything sitting on the couch. Your not wasting your time. Your fishing. None of us catch fish every time we go.
