Who uses the NED RIG?

I just heard of these and it looks pretty cool. How and where do you fish them. Ever used them in saltwater?

I use the Ned quite a bit mostly in the winter months but it'll catch fish all year. Never tried it in saltwater but freshwater it can really put fish in the boat.
Normally fish them around points or open banks without a lot of structure. Toss it out, let it fall then retrieve it very slowly, pausing every now and then. The bite usually is a soft bite , usually the bait just gets heavy and moves to one side. With the Ned if it feels funny set the hook.

I use it, but with a weedless hook, and can use it around snags, grass, etc.
Sometimes I’ll rig it with a pegged 1/32 oz. weight and weedless hook. Puts fish in the boat.

I had never heard of this rig since most of my time is surf fishing. So basically it's a jig head with a rubber worm?

Just started using the Ned rig but am having problems using it. In one of the ponds I fish in, it gets covered in green slimy moss on every cast. My guess is I’ll have to use it in ponds with different bottoms that doesn’t have a slim on the bottom. Anyone have this problem and maybe a solution to it?

A guy out on lake Sonoma was catchin fish after fish yesterday , we saw him. We didn't know what he was usein till we were comin off the lake and saw him near the ramp still catchin fish, so my buddy ask him what he was usein and he said a ned rig.

Not a slimy bottom lure, doesn't work very well in weeds either. Ned came around people fishing deep clear lakes with little vegetation, and has grown from there. The first guys would toss it out and just let it sit on bottom till something picked it up. It works well on Tim's Ford where I live, there are no weeds and not a lot of structure but it's a fish catcher.

We used it today and caught about a dozen on it. Well, I only caught 3 on mine but my partner was nailin em. I'm pretty sure he caught 9 or 10 on his. We also caught several on a drop shot and the rest on small swimbaits. Altogether, we caught bout 27 or 28.Only kept one for dinner .

I have used it a half dozen times, but have not had very good luck with it. Perhaps I am too impatient and will move to another setup. I really like the concept of using elastic instead of plastic.

I first used the ned rig last year. Our local lake is 99.8% rocks so the ned works well. I have 2 5 gallon buckets & a big cardboard box full of plastics & I cut the older worms to 3 inches for ned rigging. I also cut some of the worms to 5 to 6 inches & use them for wacky rigging, my newest latest favorite technique. I've caught several nice fish within a couple feet of shore with a ned rig, very surprising.
