Trolling motor

I have a canoe and want to buy a trolling motor saw some at dicks and bass pro shop can you suggest a motor under 500.00 also will need a battery and charger would like some suggestions and input from my good buddies on this

Hi Rich, I just looked up Minn Kota for ya.if you go to Minn Kota factory outlet store there on sale.and leaves room far a good battery.

Personally I'd check out eBay, Amazon and some of the others before I'd buy anything from Dick's. Mike

I bought mine at Walmart for like 100-125$ batterie for 60 and charger for 15$! Works great last almost all day!

I prefer a little 4 stroke gas motor.

A lot of waters don't allow gas motors. In fact I know some that don't allow any. Paddle or oar only. Mike

That is true, but if they allow a gas motor, that's what I would go with.

Once you add a motor you will probably have to register it. Just adds a little extra expense.

Have been using a 30 lb. trolling motor on a 10 foot jon boat for several years now.
Plenty of thrust and lasts all day with a 100 amp hour battery.

I used a 30 pound thrust Minkota on my 17 foot canoe and it was great, used it against the current in rivers and everywhere on lakes.

Minn kota’s are great,but a 40# thrust motor guide is cheaper and hard to beat. Any cheap marine battery will work about a year. Ha cheap.

Hey saw,I just purchased a new 4 stroke. Haven’t ran it yet,it’s still in the box. Any pointers?
