Catch on an old lure

Fished today in the Key West area. No dice using various lures and Gulp. Started using an ounce and a quarter Hopkins with a single dressed hook. Was fishing on a dock and out from underneath comes mangrove snappers fighting each other to get the lure. Five casts, 4 fish landed. Moved to another location in the marina and I couldn't keep the jacks away if I wanted to. Fun day and lesson learned to try everything in the box before quitting. Been at least 5 years since I used a Hopkins lure.

If you can't find them you can make them from chrome supply lines for sinks. Beat them flat cut to length dimple with ball peen hammer, drill hole on both ends and add split rings.

Do you post to this forum using your phone or do you use your computer? If you do use your phone and you take photos with it, and you want to learn how to do it, I can walk you through it and would be happy to do it. Let me know, PM me if you like, let me know what kind of phone you're using and I'll help you out if you want.

Thanks for the offer of assistance. I use a flip phone that my adult granddaughter refers to as a drug dealer special. I post using a computer.

Well if it does it is very simple to use. If your screen has a number of icons on it, one of them will be a picture of a camera. If you press that icon your camera application will open and your screen will show whatever the camera lens is pointed at. Usually in order to take a picture you just point the camera at whatever and then press your screen with your thumb and it will capture a photo. Play with it and see if you can do that, then get comfortable with it and we'll go from there. The problem with these phones is that they are not particularly user friendly. At least not for us old farts who grew up in an analog world. The operations required to use them are actually quite simple, once you figure it out. It's the figuring it out part that can present a challenge.

Hopkins Spoons are very successful in Michigan in the St Clair River system when jigging for walleye. Been using them for years.
