We don't have dolphins around here but we have the same kind of worthless trash that would kill one & let it lay living right here. They kill our deer & elk, cut off the antlers or the head & let the animal rot right there. There is absolutely no excuse for that kind of behavior. We can only report suspicious activity & support our wildlife officers. Theirs is a tough job as this type of insane activity is seldom committed in broad daylight with witnesses present. Well, you know what I think of the sob's. Hope the dolphin killers are apprehended.

This picture shows the dolphin found dead off of a Naples beach by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission/Courtesy NOAA

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Last week, Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge experts recovered a dead dolphin along Pensacola Beach with a bullet in its left side.

This came in the same week where Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission biologists discovered a dead dolphin off a Naples beach.

The NOAA’s Office of Law Enforcement announced Tuesday it's offering up to $20,000 for info that leads to an arrest for the person or persons responsible for the two deaths.

NOAA officials are seeking information from anyone who may have details about these incidents. You're asked to call the NOAA Enforcement Hotline at 1-800-853-1964. Tips may be left anonymously.

What a damned shame. Someone with no brains and no respect for wildlife probably thought it was cool to shoot that Dolphin. I hope they get caught and are thrown under the jail. Scumbag deluxe.

Dolphin “stealing” fish from an armed angler who lacks impulse control, maybe? A waterborne version of road rage?

That kind of behavior is used as an excuse to try to disarm us all.

A dolphin won't steal a fish. They are too intelligent to do that. Not dumb as the idiot or idiots who are doing the killing.

It sickens me.

I'm part apache indian. The best part of me. There's no punishment too harsh for someone that mistreats animals like the dolphin killer.

There’s nothing to harsh for people who don’t respect life, in any form.

With well over 7,000,000,000 people on this plant, we can certainly do without a few rotten apples. Permanent removal from the gene pool is am acceptable response for actions such as this abominable heinous act upon an innocent creature.

CamT, It just makes me sick to see that dead Dolphin laying on that beach. Everyone in the Stage is different, but one thing we all practice is good sportsmanship and respect for God’s creatures, including ourselves.

"A dolphin won't steal a fish."

That's why I put "stealing" in quotes. A fisherman targeting a school of fish might consider them "his" and object to a dolphin feeding on them. Stupidity is not limited to non-fisherfolks!

Only if you're an irresponsible
one ! If you heed most of the advice on this forum and don't give in to childish whims, you'll
do fine ! It'll hurt you a lot less
to heed someone else's advice
and learn from THEIR mistakes
than to go out and learn (the
hard way) from your own !

Darn right. I wish I had paid heed to my elders. Too late now, I am one.

That is one way to stop repeat offenders.

Here's an idea borrowed from some of those old 'Westerns;
back then, they'd hog-tie
someone, tie a 50' rope to their feet and drag 'em through the cactus ! Now, you can tie 'em to your trailer hitch and drag'em down some old washboard-
riddled gravel road ! In the water, tie only ONE ankle and drag 'em
behind a high-powered boat through some rough chop ! At
the very least, they'll stop to
think twice before attempting
to do it again !

Me, too. But I get the ultimate satisfaction and humor as I'm returning to my time, leaving the mob. The non-cable TV is a complete waste of time now, fishing much more constructive than it and the mob. Let this one be. Too bad we're out there with degenerate dolphin killers. Who knows if they would've chose to shoot us if no dolphins were around and I'd put their gun up deep in the dark space.
