The old guy Jim that I went fishin with the other day I said he was 90 years old. Well, I found out today that he's really 93. He's really in pretty good shape for 93, and he still loads his boat up and drives out to the lake and back. Just doesn't go by himself any more, that all. Hope we can all be that lucky.
Love hanging with that generation even though its just 2 decades ahead of me. So much was seen and done in those other 20 years that I find interesting. Nice to have a friend like that saw.
Just one more example of “ not the dog in the fight, but the fight in the dog!”
Just sayin...RJS
My ma was 98 this past December. She can certainly have a different point of view. She don't get out much, but that's a physical thing, and mentally she's pretty sharp. Her short-term memory fails her occasionally, but she remember things from 70 years ago like yesterday.
98 ? Remarkable. Is the blood line as fortunate?

My mom is goin to be 92 this May. She's not doin too bad, but does have copd from smoking all her life.
My wife's dad made it to 94 and the stories he could tell and the way he told them had us on the edge of our seats just envisioning what it must have been like. From riding a horse to school, to the first automobile. What that generation has seen and done, amazing is putting it lightly.

Ain't that the truth.
My mom's dad was born in the 1880's and passed in 1968, just a year before we landed a man on the moon. You think about the changes he saw in his lifetime, it's pretty amazing. He had a story or two.

Yeah Spirit my Grandaddy was born in 1888. He was a really good man. Worked hard on the farm most all his life.
Lost my mother when she was 93. Of course the minister said I never saw a woman that looked that good for 93 yrs old while he was giving the service. She said she had a wonderful life (was married & divorced 5 times). I think she liked that kind of excitement. I was the exact opposite of her - only married once. My grandmother didn't believe in divorce and she said "Stay with them til the toughest hide holds out".
Both Great Grand Mothers on my Moms side were over 100.

Don't know that I want to be here that long.
My fishing buddy died this past year. He was 94. He was a boat builder by trade. Also a rod builder. He made me a really nice fly rod. I miss him a lot. Taught me lots of good stuff. RIP Bill.

Just lost my mom in January this year.
103 yrs young.
My Dad died at 94. We traced his bloodline through my grandmother to 1629 and every male member of the family made it to at least 84 except one at 36. Figure he either got run over by a wagon or shot by a jealous husband. Most were married 5 or6 times
