As expensive as what? What's your budget? Most of my fishing is done with telescoping fishing rod combos.

I want the best rod. Make it cheap too! lol dude just get a big box combo for that rate. Shakespeare, ugly stick, abu garcia they sell tons of em. You'll get what you pay for.

I didn't say I want the best rod, I just wanted a good all round rod. I didn't say I wanted an amazing rod under $40, I just want a good rod that isn't $100+

Okuma celilo is my go to for light action, I've hooked into some monsters without any breakage and they're a good price.

Pair that with a pflueger trion reel and you got yourself a nice sturdy set up for right around $80

The guys above just gave you a combo I was gonna recommend. Okuma rod, Pflueger reel... have 2or3 set-ups with this combo..my go-to rigs AND probably as productive as any I own.

I bought the light medium Ugly Stik combo. I recommend it for a light action rod. The only problem is with that light action. Or this Rod anyway. Is it hard for me to get a hook set. Once the Fish is on. It is a great rod. This combo will let you cast. A quarter ounce jig about 40 yards 50 with the Wind. I like it.

Bass Pro Shops Micro lite series rods! I had caught everything from pan fish to larger walleyes and 3 lb smallmouth bass. Even hooked and brought in some large carp with 7 ft. Med light action rod.

Look at Shimano Clarus or Shakespeare Ulgy Stick ultra lights and pair it with a IX1000R Shimano reel. Great combination. I just picked up 3 of these reels last week from Tackle Direct for 12.99 each and had them in in three days. Great service!!!

I like the ugly stick GX2. I put a small Penn battle 2000 (got it on sale). Love it! I've caught everything on it from 5 lb cats to small speckled trout. Also caught a big lake trout. Love them uglies!
