I am considering purchasing a St Croix Avid X 7 ft med. spinning rod that has micro guides. I have not had experience with these guides and am looking for any opinions anyone might have positive or negative. I am planning on using KastKing co-polymer and will be fishing for large mouth and smallmouth bass. Thanks
I have one of the Avid rods that I use for trout fishing and I love love love it. Does not have micro guides and I have never used a rod with them. So, I'm waiting to hear, just like you. But don't hesitate to get that Avid - great rod.

I have one already and anxious to get another
I got a Birkey 7’ medium spinning rod with micro guides for Christmas. The reel has 15# braid and 10# mono leader. Only used it once in late January. Was told that they wouldn’t work with a leader but had no problems casting with it. I used a double uni knot, worked great!

Nice to know. I also use braid to mono on other set ups and might use it on this one as well at times
Of the 25 rods I have for bass fishing I purchased a Johnny Morris Signature with the micro guides on it. Was very skeptical but I found that they are as good or better preforming than the same rod so I will eventually replace all with micro guides. Good luck with what ever way you go. The Capt.
Depends on how micro the micro guide is. I own a Lews casting rod with micro guides, not my favorite rod. I mostly fish braid to some type of leader. With the micro guides a double uniknot won't go thru.
I LOVE THEM...BUT I USE ONLY MONOFILAMENT STREN
I have one and really like it but the guides can ice up a little more in cold water fishing - just before the lake ices entirely ☹️
