The pies were only divided by: single crust and double crust, but they are graded 1-10 for the following: appearance (presentation), taste (flavor), texture, crust, and filling. This sorta helps eliminate the bias if there’s some you really don’t like; you can still judge the other elements besides taste. The only one of 10 pies I did not care for was (and this SHOCKED me)
Apple/Bacon Pie. I’ve never heard of it till today. Thot yum......NOT !!

Each of the 5 elements are scored from 1 to 10 on each pie. So a “perfect” pie (by those 5 things) would score 50 points.

If you'd like an idea of what my chili was like, watch the Ray Stevens video ; "The Jalapeño, Texas, Red-Hot Chili Cook-off !"
Good for a laugh !

Randy, your killing me with that smokey-sweet chili description. That's it. I' m getting in the car heading for Lawrence. Should still get there in time for chili and eggs. Tell your wife to keep it warm. I'm on the way.

It's windyer than a son of a gun today. Sure glad it didn't blow like this yesterday. Would have made for some miserable fishin. That is if we could have even gotten on the lake. I bet there are 3 foot white caps out there right now. Was like glass at 2:30 yesterday afternoon, which is rare. Calm before the storm so they say. Whatever, Thank you Lord for givin us such a wonderlully beautiful day of fishin yesterday. Amen.

Would you like to share your Chili recipe? I have tried lots of them on internet and they are not very good so far.

After talking with my wife, she has agreed to share her chili recipe with y’all. But............... here’s the problem. She doesn’t actually have a written recipe that she goes by. She’s one of those “dump in to taste” cooks. So..... when she makes her next pot of chili, she will keep track of all ingredient amounts and write it down. Then I will share it with y’all.
Also, this way Greg won’t have to drive all the way from E Tennessee to have some delicious smokey sweet chili. Stay tuned............
I will post it on a new thread.

Randy, your wife rocks! Lol. I'm sure Lawrence is nice but tell her I appreciate not having to make the drive. Will watch for the chili update.
