I have a Penn Battle 2 fishing real. Would it be okay to put it on an Ugly stick for general fishing?

Penn Battle II and Ugly Stik Elite compatibility?

One of my biggest mistakes....when I got to SW Florida from Peoria Illinois I decided to buy my new rods and reels because I'd be fishing saltwater. Got way to heavy equipment thinking I would need something huge for huge fish. After casting for a year trying to catch Reds, Trout, Snook I found that I felt like I'd been lifting weights instead of casting to catch some fish. After that year I downsized by a longshot and continued that thinking over the years. Many times now I'm using 10 pound test just like I used to bass fishing back in Peoria. I've recently been surprised how big a fish I can catch on 10 pound and a light rod and reel...

I put a Penn spinning reel together with a MH, 7 ft ugly stick and it works great for all my saltwater needs. I don't go out into the open water, I stick to Pensacola bay and have had good luck. If this helps!

Get a newer ugly lite version graphite type. Light weight and strong of course. See if they have ugly tiger sticks the yellow ugly stick, little beefier for saltwater tackle.

My opinion Ugly stiks are good rods. Just consider what type of fishing you will be doing and select the action and length to suit your needs.

Ugly sticks are like family reunions, old, tattered and torn each has a story and they keep showing up. These rods are good products.

I like the UglyStik Tiger because they are made with E glass and are tough as nails.Stay away from the Graphite rods that are brittle .

Having 5 kids who can take a steel ball bearing apart put it back together & have parts left over...I started them fishing with Zebco 202s in salt water. They didn't last too long. Got some Daiwa Sweepfire 2500s, $12.99 cut the bail crazy glued all the movable parts, turned them into manual reels put them on the cheapest ugly sticks I could find... We have caught everything on those so called cheap combinations, to include bull reds & Cobia. Now it's a fight to bring in the fish with 10-14lb test line. But the kids had a ball with those rods & reels which are now getting ready for the grand-kids. I end up using those more than my expensive rods & reels. Plus if you leave those laying around someone will yell at to to come pick up your trash littering is against the law. If you leave an expensive rod & reel behind you will never see it again. You cannot destroy those so called cheap Daiwas...
