The most fun fishing in fresh water in South Mississippi, in my opinion, is fishing for bass and bream (bluegills and shell crackers) with a fly rod. If you still want to catch walleyes and smallmouth bass in Mississippi, you will need to go to Pickwick Lake and the streams that flow into it in the extreme northeast corner of the state.
Jackruff, fish little black much? Love the lake but it’s hard to fish.

Lots of red snapper fishing right off the rock pier in Gulfport. When we lived in MS years ago, my dad would visit from IL and I would take gimme there for some good fighting fish! Tight lines and good luck!
I fished Little Black Creek Lake years ago, but have not recently. Mostly I fish small lakes and ponds belonging to friends of mine. I am richly blessed to have generous friends who share! Also, I love to fish small streams.
You know, that’s hard to beat! Fish may be hard to come by but your friends are always there for ya. I had to really good friends in P’Ville. Bill Berger with the RR and Mr Kirkland. He hauled dairy feed. I managed the Purina store downtown.
Thanks for all the info guys I appreciate it
