If it ain't broke don't fix it!
Ok so last season I used Spiderwire EZ Braid. (Moss Green) It was my first time using braid on a spinning reel. I use braid on baitcasters always. I think spiderwire was great. I use a 4 ft mono leader on it and seemed to do well. But, I usually re-spool for a new season although I'm told it's not necessary to re-spool every season I do anyway. So to my question....I hear lots of talk about Power Pro on FS and little about Spiderwire. Can anyone who has used both give me the pro's and Con's between them. I still have a few hundred ft. of Spiderwire left, but now considering giving Power Pro a shot. I pulled a lot of line off the spool yesterday and I did notice that there is some memory in Spiderwire, not as bad as mono, but still there non the less. Maybe I should rig up different this season, let me know your opinions please!
Power Pro is the same diameter throughout the spool. Spiderwire often has thin and sometime flat spots. Since using Power Pro, I will not use any thing else. The only exception is on my icefishing reels.
I usually don't use a leader unless I am fishing crystal clear waters
hmmm, never noticed that really. I am leaning towards re-spool with Power Pro just to experience it myself! Thank You for the reply!
No negs with power pro. Have heard of spider wire cutting notches in guides.
I've heard that too...I check mine occasionally but don't see that yet. Guides have ceramic inserts though on mine.

I used Spiderwire when it first came out. I could hear it go through my guides and said, "That can't be a good thing", switched to Fireline, not very abrasive resistant. Switched to Seagar, pricey, switched to Power Pro, no problems. (MHO)
Thank You Flyguy....I'm getting lots of reasons to re-spool with Power Pro this season. Still have a 300 yd. Spool of Spiderwire from Walmart on sale last year...maybe they'll let me trade towards Power Pro.

Do you still have your receipt? Don't use Spiderwire on cheap guides.
No, but they will usually give me store credit without one. Hasn't done any guide damage yet and i fish almost daily when ice out comes. Key word is yet!
I haven’t used Power Pro in many years. Just my personal choice. I use the Sunline fishing lines. Suffix braids are also good for my fishing.. Nothing wrong with the other brands just personal choice...

I've used power pro for many years, love it , never any issues.
Thank you Ron and Pickle... I will keep that in mind!
power pro SLICK is my #1 choice and I've tried six or seven different kinds Sunline came in second but PRICEY
I am also a PowerPro guy. I’ve been using it for about 10 years and have found zero problems with it. I’ve got reels that the braid has been on it for 3 years and still going. I also use PowerPro on my spinning equipment and it also works fine. I prefer the yellow because it’s easier for me to see the line, just take a black marker and mark up the last 18 inches. Just .02 cents worth.
