Wanna try using bucktails this coming summer. Watched a bunch of videos and no one seems to use sinkers. There is a ton of current where I fish and usually use 2oz sinker with live bait or gulp. Mainly going to the bay but will be fishing inshore wrecks. How should I tie these up? Sinker needed or should I use a heavier bucktail?

I trust you’ve watched the John Skinner Youtube summer flounder videos. I like the ones where he’s on his own the best. Teaches you what to use, how to tie it and how much weight.

I have some heavier bucktails up to 3 oz for when the current is going crazy.

Depending on the tide determines the weight you have to be able to bounce bottom also put a white buck tail only fly zero or very little weight on it a couple ft above your jig you’ll catch as many on that unweighted buck tail as you will the jig also we use strips of squid of each and stinger hooks are are good idea on the jig
