For kicks, I google-earthed Folly Beach and I'm guessing you parked in town and walked left from the pier. By next month I reckon it would be impossible to get on the beach unless you're actually staying at a house or hotel, as there doesn't appear to be any public parking.🎣🎣🎣

Main street coming on the beach is Center St. Then going left or right the street parallel to center start from 1st st. and count up. I park at 5th St E. Just about all of the island is free parking except around center St. Just don't have your tires touching the pavement or blocking someones drive way. Also there is a parking lot where every numerical numbered street meets the beach. There is a charge in those parking places.

Top circle is where I park. Bottom is pay parking

Took the puppy to the beach this morning and let my fishing rod tag along. First bite was a Bluefish and the second was a Bonnet Head Shark. Ocean was flat and the dog is getting use to the water.

Looks like you had a nice time. Are bluefish good to eat?

It takes a lot of time and prep to get the oily fishy taste out. Smaller ones better.

My wife (from Long Island) grew up eating them grilled and turned me onto them. They're also quite good smoked.

Kandy, if you or DC have a recipe I would love to give one a try. I don't know how to prep or cook them. The one in the pic was maybe 1 to 2 lb's.

Many years ago I tried all sorts of recipes. There was one that actually covered up the oil but I have no idea where it is today. I remember it took a long time to put together so may have chucked it thinking it wasn't worth the time but I will look through my recipes and send it on if I find it.

Nice Pixs, looks like a good day to be on the beach. What were you using for bait?
