AI Is Very Intrusive

My brother and I have been doing maintenance and repair for a friend who has several boats on his property. We sat down with him to order parts on Amazon.com using his phone and his card he ordered the items needed. I've seen those same things advertised on fishing stage, my YouTube, Facebook page and other stuff. So my phone AI has to be listening in my conversation with my friend's order and hit me on my phone with ads all over the place. I never placed any orders for parts and material from my device. That's pretty nosy if you ask me.

I don't know about 'listening' per se, but anytime you do a Google search for anything it is in their memory banks.

Don't mind seeing Ads for something I was already searching for but, PLEASE stop the ones that flash on and off and cover content I'm trying to read. That I find extremely annoying.

And who, lol, keeps researching toilet seats that keeps that Ad popping up at the beginning of The Stage. Gross!

There are servers that protect your privacy but Google is just so easy and prevalent, hard not to use it.

Ditto what OJ says. AI is just like when computers entered our everyday lives where it took awhile to work out the kinks and many finally accepted them.

I am not a fan of AI either, but don't want to be left in the dark and keep asking the younger generation for answers.

Well, if 30-40 years ago if you asked people if they wanted the Government to know where they were at any time, they would have said NO! But now everyone has a Cell Phone, so guess what? LOL

I have started using DuckDuckGo instead of google. My personal experience is that I am getting fewer ads and I like it.

Well, not long ago I posted a story that was advice to grandfathers on what they might consider as gifts for their grandsons. It had to do with fielding trick questions thrown at a young college graduate who was applying for a sales position. In this article I wrote, I mentioned Mont Blanc pens. Hardly had I signed off when Mont Blanc was advertising on the Forum. I was both annoyed and impressed with the efficiency of their jumping on my 'nibble'! Just Sayin...RJS

Come to think about it, I am probably responsible for Tacova Boots and Western gear because I was a satisfied customer of their cowboy crocodile boots and the Forum might be a good market for their products. Now this appeared because I made direct contact to the owners of Tacova. Just Sayin...RJS
