So I took my 10 year old and his friend out on the Feather today. Around 7:30a my son’s friend lands a nice 20” keeper after a HELLUVA fight for that size fish! I hook it to the last rung of my stringer and think to myself that it just doesn’t seem secure so I hook it to the next rung up. Mind you these are the 2 rungs I use the most. After about 15 minutes my son says (jokingly) “wouldn’t it be funny if the fish got off?”……NO! As he says it his friend looks down and says, “where’s the fish?” The sucker got off! 😂 it was disappointing but we all had a good laugh about it. My son caught a nice 18 incher and I told him it would’ve been dinner last year but not this year. All in all it was a great morning. I got the boys into some fish and we got to bond like men. Can’t wait for the next trip.
Nicely done, nothing like getting time in with the boys.

Nice catching for your boys McFishin. Too bad about the stringer. I like the nylon cord ones with the locking plastic clips. They don't make noise or rust either. Thanks for the pictures.
Hey Mcfishin, sound's like a lot of fun that a solid experience with the little men they will not forget that one and for sure it will bring some great laugh around the fire pit for years to come.

I envy you son's and fathers who spend with each other doing things together. My dad was a workaholic expected my brother My and I to be the same. My son took up golf in high school and has no interest in going fishing with me. I have 2 granddaughters who love to go fishing with me but have so many other activities they don't have time to come see me. We've lived here a year and they have yet to come see us at our new place.

Nice catch. My husband did that to me once. He put the fish on a rope stringer and somehow the 5 got off. Just gave me another opportunity to fish some more.

I’m sure those boys won’t forget that day of fishing, that lost fish will be ingrained in their memory banks forever.
Good story and memories to share years from now.

Why was the 18 incher not enough for dinner this year?

Always a good day when you can fish with the kids👍🎣😊.
The boys look like they're having a great time
I can relate to the open clip.
Caught a catfish as big or bigger than my best.
Come daylight the others woke up.
Catch any of course.
Had the same stringer hooked to the boat.
Pulled it up outta the water.
The guys got a quick look.
One big tail flip n it was gone.
I would have released it but was waiting for daylight to measure.
Went back to rope stringer 👍
