Took two weeks off fishing to help my mom with some age related issues in Iowa. Went back to Saguro for the dusk bite last night. Everything had changed! Couldn't get a bite with strategies used in pre-spawn. 4 in the boat yesterday but all in the river shallows. 2 on drop-shot w morning glory curlytail. 2 with a brown crayfish jig.

Go up river past the no wake bouys to 10-15 ft of water. They were all in pretty tight to the banks. There were 5 or 6 boats all in that area and they were all catching more than me. One guy was hauling them in right and left. He was using a rattle trap lure. I didn't have one in my box. Unless things change again I think that strategy would work.

Nice catching Ryan. Things change fast at this time of year. Every few degrees of water temperature can shift the bite into another gear. Good job adjusting. Thanks for sharing.

Update: I went again last night (FRIDAY). Fished 5:30 to 7:30 in the river and caught 3. 2 on that same 5.5 inch curly tail morning glory drop shot and one with a silver 3/4 oz Rattle Trap.

Bugs were bad but bite was good.
