I hope everyone is having a wonderful spring. Anyone fishin’ the Forks of the Kern River and its tributaries…I’m thinking’ the flow is fairly high and murky from snow melt.

I don’t know about this time of year, but I fished at Kernville in October attending a carshow there and catching a lot on gold panther Martin spinners and Pautskes balls of fire salmon eggs. It might be murky until the snow melt is over?? I fished there for about 8 years. I think all the fish I caught were planters.

Go on you tube and look up Guy Jeans. He has a fly shop in Kernville and has been doing current reports . Even though he mostly fly fishes you can get an idea of how the fishing is and the current conditions. I need to get up there myself I understand that the fishing has been great.
Good Luck

And if you keep following that kern river system up, you’ll find Lake Isabella, one of the most underrated lakes in California I believe big catfish, biggest coals of Croppie I ever seen in my life, big trout and with all that, but you know there’s big bass, but the trout fishing in that river is awesome to
