Make that three of us. I was trying to line up two pairs of sunglasses to shoot the reflection in a bucket of water.
We had a 94% eclipse, it pretty much went black at the peak for a few moments.

Is anyone within range of the eclipse looking forward to it? We here will get about 92% coverage at 2:07.
The school is giving students and staff glasses. We will all be going outside to view the eclipse. Should be fun.
Hey mistred, coming to you from Horseshoe Bend Arkansas. Totality at about 1:55 and it was really neat. The temp went from 80° down to about 70° and looked like about 8:00pm central time. Here are a couple of pics.

I could see that wrinkling on the edge too. There is a name for that I read about a few days ago. It had something to do with the way the light bends around the mountains on the moon, I think.
It just got a little shady here in NC more like to a passing cloud

We r in the middle of its path. Suppose to be a total coverage. Might not get to see it
There are 10’s of thousands people here to view it. No motel rooms, people r renting out their boathouse to view it.
Hope the clouds break
Yall have a great Eclipse day

$599 for what normally runs $160??? Man, classic price gouging. Bet that hotel owner wouldn't have qualms about selling his mother for an extra week's income.
I know it's whatever the market will bear, but still...

Had a full one in 2017 down here. Interesting but it's a big build up for such a short show. I enjoyed it but I would not travel to see onother one. Put the glasses over your cell phone to take pictures. It worked for me.
Gordon, I tried that and every picture looked like a blury full sun. Finally I took a picture without the sheild and it still looked like a blurry full sun except the sun was yellow. The filter shots looked white. No pictures showed a bite taken out of the sun. But my phone still works. So do my eyes.
Sun without the eye shield filter
The K thru 2nd graders outside were well behaved, used their glasses, and had a blast. Very fun.

When I worked in the machine shop a couple guys used the welding glasses. Didn't go blind.

That’s what I thought to but I think it was only room left in East Texas lol

I’ve used welding helmets before and still have better than perfect vision but your right about the pictures we couldn’t get a decent one for anything nothing at all like what we were seeing
