Went fishing in the Harbor yesterday and it was getting late and I caught another good size shark. Didn’t get it into the boat but close. Trying to identify what type it was. Thought it was a black tip at first but today I’m not so sure. So need some help folks

Could be a Bull Shark.

I’d be guessing to give an answer, but good hookup and nice pic.

Used Google Lens on the pic and it's telling me it's a Bull Shark.

Yep, my initial impression was to call it as a Bull Shark also.
There has been quite a bit of talk about Bull Sharks in the inshore estuarine parts of SW Florida the last couple months.
Had a personal encounter with one or more of them on 3 consecutive days just over a month ago near Big Carlos Pass at the south end of Estero Island/Ft.Myers Beach. I’ve caught Bonnethead/Bonnet Head Sharks in that area over the years but this was my first real interaction with a species known as one of the dangerous ones.
Seeing it/them at such a close distance is not something that will soon be forgotten.
It was certainly a bit unsettling at first, but then I felt it was more of a privilege to have been there at that particular place and time to have the opportunity of the experience.
Yet, a six foot long Bull Shark could ruin your day in a mighty quick hurry if you aren’t careful.

I think it’s a Black Nose Shark. I blew up your picture and appears to me that the tip of it’s nose is black.

Tried to identify my first shark that wasn’t clearly a dogfish a few months ago. Surprised at how many different species are caught from the shore in Tampa, and how difficult it is to identify even one in your possession. Finally concluded that my catch was a sharp nose. I certainly wouldn’t bet on a correct ID from that photo, though I could be wrong.

Nice research!
I think the Black Tip Shark has a much darker upper body than the Bull Shark.
I still think it's a Bull Shark.
