Went out with my friends Bill and Paul Tuesday morning to catch some trout.
The ride to the flats was bumpy and sloppy
After we found a dolphin on the flats we started catching trout.
But the puffer fish were terrible so we switched from rubber to hard jerk baits.
We caught puffers on the jerk baits too.
Fish count 2 puffers 1 giant lady fish 1 sting ray 2 jacks and fifty trout.
We had 4 keeper trout.
Fun Day but the wind was blowing all day casting for the most part was cross wind or down wind.

Sounds as though you had a fairly action packed outing despite the rough ride & the blustery wind.
I am guessing that is similar to what would be called a good “Walleye chop” up in the Midwest?
Not quite enough to force you off the water but just about as much of an annoyance as you’re able to take.
Safe to say you would have been back to the dock earlier had it not been for the seemingly hot bite?

Nice trout Norman. Didn't know the puffers are there. I go to West Palm Beach in September for then. You catch a lot of them?
The puffer's are everywhere in the
Harbor
These are all the keepers
Thanks for the pictures.
Haven't caught a trout since we left SGI last Oct.
What a Great day on the water for you.
Nice catch. Good dinnerđź‘Ť
Similar results around Pirate Harbor. Few nice trout but wind makes kayak fishing a challenge.

Forget the fishing, wind can make anything kayak challenging.
So True, but canoes are even worse in the wind.
We run 15 miles one way to the flats no kayaks around.
